Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
God’s wrath is just as powerful as his love!
God is a loving, righteous, godly, and holy God. He is also a righteous and upright judge. He judges sin. He hates sin. Sin is an enemy and is of the devil. The devil sinned against God in heaven and caused us to fall prey to sin; which started with the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. The curse of sin passed to their offspring. It is a generational curse. God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He is the same God that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sinful lifestyle. He was a friend of Abraham because he was found righteous in his sight. Abraham asked God if he would spare the city, if he found 50 righteous people, he asked continually until he got down to 10 people. The Lord said he would spare the city of the wicked, if there was 10 righteous people (Reference: Genesis 18:23-33). There was less than 10 found righteous; he destroyed the city and surrounding cities, except Zoar for the sake of Lot, Abraham’s nephew. Lot and his 2 daughters were the only ones saved. Abraham had compassion and so does God; that’s why he spared Lot and his daughters, but for the wicked people who heavily indulge in sin, without repentance, he had to destroy. They were so corrupt, they tried to have sex with the 2 angels that God sent to destroy the city; Lot offered his 2 daughters, but they didn’t want them. They knew to not sin because of the teaching of the prophets, but they disobeyed and continue living in sin.
But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD.
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by under going a punishment of eternal fire.
Sin is a virus, if it is not destroyed it will spread to other people. It not only destroy everything in it’s path; it destroys the spirit and the body. This is also why Satan was kicked out of Heaven, if God did nothing, it would have spread and he would have convinced the other angels to follow his destructive path, like some did and where kicked out also. He can not let it slide because of the effects it has on everything.
2 Peter 2:6
If by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly
Another example of God’s wrath against sin is that of the people in Noah’s time. They also knew of the Gospel because of the prophets and Noah warned them, but they laughed and mocked him. Just like Sodom and Gomorrah, sin was running rampant, the only righteous one, was Noah. The Lord told Noah to build an Ark because he was going to flood the whole world and destroy every living thing that was not on the Ark.
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Sin is a Cause and Effect. It first brews in the heart and when you continually engage that sin, it bring effect. The Effect is destruction. Many catastrophic events take place because of a sinful nature. A person being jealous or having hatred in their heart can lead to murder in the heart and also physical death of another. A person indulging in adultery destroys their marriage, mentally and physically. A person engaging in drunkenness can be hateful, abusive and also kill someone by drunk driving. The scenarios are endless and that is why the world is corrupt like it is today. That is why God our creator is so adamantly against it. He MUST destroy it and does.
Take heed to all the sins he mentions, like lying, adultery, fornication, idolatry, sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and things like these will have a detrimental effect on your life and the lives of others. (Reference: Galatians 5:19-21) These are the bad fruits of the spirit and if you display them inwardly or outwardly, you will not inherit the kingdom of God. This is why the Lord tell us to take on the good fruits of the spirit, which is totally opposite the bad ones. Don’t you know if we displayed the good fruits all the time and never engage in sin, that would be as Heaven. We wouldn’t see the evilness we see today. People love to blame God for how evil the world is, but it’s not his fault, it’s actually ours, because we chose sin over him.
The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge!
Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the surface of the ground, except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,” declares the LORD.
PRAYER: I Pray that someone got something out of this post. I want them to know that God is a great and good God, but he must destroy what is poison and not good for us. I pray for the sick to get healed. I pray for the discernment of the Word for the reader. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
